Clare Best’s previous publications include her multimedia project Breastless – a combination of poetry, prose, photography, film and plaster-casts – based on her experience of family breast cancer and risk-reducing surgery. She has performed this work across the UK and Ireland as well as in Canada and the USA; it is permanently housed by Sussex University at reframe.sussex.ac.uk/lifewriting projects. Other poetry publications are Treasure Ground (HappenStance, 2009), Excisions (Waterloo, 2011), CELL (Frogmore Press, 2015) and Springlines (Little Toller Books, 2017). Her prose memoir The Missing List (Linen Press, 2018) has been described by Andrew O’Hagan as ‘a tapestry of time – brightly coloured, beautifully orchestrated, emotionally pure’. Clare recently moved from Sussex to the Suffolk coast.
